Ten Minutes with Kellan Lutz

The Huffington Post writer Fabio Periera spent "10 Minutes with Kellan Lutz" chatting at the Eclipse Gum Party in Baton Rouge:

I'm doing pretty good. So I understand you're in Louisiana filming the last film in the Twilight franchise?

Yeah, I just flew back in. I've been really blessed with these movies. This new one is a big, seven-month movie but it's nice to have time to fly back and forth to LA and other places just because you end up having a week off here and there. So it's nice. I'm back here, it's like my fourth trip flying back. And I love Baton Rouge, I'm really happy shooting here. I shot here back in May, I had a movie that, you know, wasn't as hectic with fans because not all the Twilight (actors) were here, but I just love this town and I love being a tour guide for the castmates.

Totally. So, you're currently working on the last Twilight film and you've been working with these people for quite a while now. Are you feeling a little bit sad as it ends?

No, not at all. This whole franchise is definitely special to be apart of. It's really different than, say, the Lord of the Rings movies where you're down in New Zealand for years. These movies are kind of easy and they don't get tiresome. You work for three or four months on each movie and then you go home and with in those time periods, we have weeks off because we do block shooting. So, all the werewolves shoot for a couple weeks and then the vampires shoot. We come and go a lot. We don't really--I mean, none of us have gotten sick of each other, we all love each other. We're all very responsible and we take on the opportunities that being part of this franchise has given us in different field and parts of the industry and in life. So, I haven't even thought about it, it's not going to end really until 2012 and a few months after that--flying around, doing junkets. But no, I'm definitely not sad... It's not work, you know?

So, switching gears a little bit. You were named to People's Sexiest Men Alive list. What's that like for you when you get these, um... awards, I guess...

(Laughs.) It's very flattering. I remember, I've seen magazines like that and I don't really watch TV. But you know, Ryan Reynolds is in there all the time and now on the cover, and it's very humbling that People magazine would have me be a part of that.

What does your family think?

My--my family (Laughs.) I mean, I fell into acting. I've always kind of been "crazy Kellan" and just full of energy and doing my own thing that once I got into acting, it kind of just escalated all that attention for them in a way. Because I like to make my own attention. I just went back to Iowa, where my grandparents live, and I try to see them as much as I can. And they love it. They watch all my movies. We're in a small town, so it's like everyone knows them by their first name, there's one street light and they tell (their friends) that I'm going to come there. They're like, "Oh, he's just going to have his friends over,' because last time I was there the whole town came by and I was just signing autographs. Which I fine, but you think you can get away from that by going to see your grandparents in the middle of nowhere. This time I was like, "Ok, let's just do a big barbeque. We can have everyone come over and take pictures," because I only had a day and a half there. I wanted to go and hang out on the farm, I wanted to see my cousins and stuff and I just didn't have time to spend a whole day doing that again. And we decided to do a dinner and had a bunch of people come over and I stopped by the local gas station and, everyone knows each other, so their [friends] ask, "What are you doing?"

"Oh, this is my grandson, he's from LA--from Hollywood. He's an actor. He's in People Magazine!" They just had this whole (thing) down and I'm just like, "Great! Throw me under the bus like that!" (Laughs.) But they're sweethearts, and it puts such a smile on their face and if I can do that and it tacks on a couple more years to their life, (then) by all means, I want to.

Do you ever miss normalcy?
I've never been normal.

What do you mean?
I mean, I'm really down to earth but I mean--I'm normal but I am very random. I can't just sit down at a computer. I can't just do the normal things. I'm always doing something--being outside, doing things that a lot of people just don't do and I look at that. But in my normal life, I'm still Kellan. Yeah, Twilight's been a world of a change and has really helped me in my career, but I still do the same things I've always done. I still go bowling with friends and go to batting cages and I still go snowboarding all the time, walking my dog, hiking. That hasn't changed. Yeah, the paparazzi get annoyed when I'm (Laughs) and they didn't realize to pack warm clothes. But no, I haven't changed.

We Amost Had An 'Eclipse' Wedding!

According to Next Movie, Eclipse director David Slade thought about shooting the 'Breaking Dawn' wedding for 'Eclipse', the third installment of the saga:

“We discussed a lot of the things at the script-writing stage — at one point, we were even going to shoot the wedding at the end of ["Eclipse"] but we knew there was another film coming,” Slade tells NextMovie exclusively.“We knew that a lot of that could go into the next film. And we just made the most concise version of this story that we could.”

I am glad they saved it for Breaking Dawn! Can't wait to see that part of the movie! It had better be EPIC!

Official 'Breaking Dawn' Logo!

Here is the Official Breaking Dawn Logo! If you remember, each logo has been a different color & has sparked a lot of discussion on the meaning.  I was going to discuss, but I think Lorabell @ TwiCrackAddict has some very good insight:

"The navigation bar along the top of the site shows the previously released Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse logos - it appears that Breaking Dawn is in an almost white.

The blue Twilight represented the ethereal coldness of being introduced to the world of vampires, the orange New Moon contrasted with the natural warmth of the Wolves, as the gray and red of Eclipse clashes the two as fire and ice.

Will this (apparent) Breaking Dawn logo serve Part 1 as the white of the wedding then Isle Esme's dazzling sun and sand, before Bella's gaunt and pale pregnancy; and then Part 2 as the brilliant light dawning over the horizon over the white snow?"

Local Louisiana Bakery Making Edward & Bella's Wedding Cake!

Fairy Dust Cakes, a bakery in Louisiana will be making Edward & Bella's Wedding Cake for Breaking Dawn!  How exciting for them!  Here is what they had to say about the opportunity:

"Most of you Twi fans know in this area that a large portion of Breaking Dawn will be filmed in Louisiana.  We have the wonderful opportunity to be making Bella and Edwards wedding cake.  Yes!!! You heard me correctly.  I am a huge Twi fan and wiggled my way in to be making their cake for the movie.  If all goes well it will not be vaguely in the shop or cropped out of the film all together.  Who knows.  Can't tell ya what it will look like....not until it opens in theaters, then you will get a clear shot of the cake.  Over the years we have made two of the opening premiere cakes for Rave Motion Pictures and this surely a great step up. Oh, we are definitely Team Edward!!!!  Ha"

How cool a local bakery gets to design the cake for the movie!  Remember in Breaking Dawn where Edward and Bella take part in traditional wedding activites:

"" We took turns shoving cake in each other’s faces; Edward manfully swallowed his portion as I watched in disbelief."  - Breaking Dawn Chapter 4 Page 55

'Breaking Dawn' Filming Heads Back to Louisiana & Security is TIGHT!

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Filming Breaking Dawn in Brazil

According to an article by the Twilight Examiner, Breaking Dawn filming is back in Louisiana and the set is under tight security:

It seems that filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has finally made its way to Baton Rouge, Louisiana today.

Scene Today, a local film news site, reports that along with the arrival of set personnel, security measures have been increased as much as six-fold, and authorities are monitoring the location with the intent to prosecute trespassers.

“So, we’ll have on property at all times a forty-eight man force. We are not taking security on this property lightly,” ST quote the security chief responsible for the location to state. “We will absolutely prosecute every person who trespasses . . . There have been six who trespassed before and they have all been caught.”

Yikes! What does this mean for Twilight fans?

In short, the Baton Rouge set will be locked up. Access will be restricted which means coverage of the set will be minimalized. It should be interesting to see from here on what, if any, information fans can still learn about production's progress. Surely, there will still be something coming out of Baton Rouge, information-wise. It would behoove no one involved with production to have anticipations dwindle due to a heavy drought.

I hope there is no drought... droughts make me :(

'Breaking Dawn' Filming Update: Tomorrow Rob & Kristen's Last Day in Brazil?

According to Hollywood Life, tomorrow will be Rob & Kristen's last day in Brazil filming the much anticipated Honeymoon scenes for 'Breaking Dawn':

"Nov. 13 is R-Patz & K-Stew’s last day at the luxurious waterfront estate we’ve been showing you all week!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are saying goodbye to Brazil. The on-and-off-screen couple has been in Paraty, Brazil, all week to film the “Isle of Esme” honeymoon scenes. HollywoodLife.com spoke with a source close to production who revealed that Breaking Dawn producers rented the house for 22 days at the end of October, but Rob and Kristen are leaving the tropical paradise Nov. 13 by helicopter.

“It took the production crew 10 days to change the house to the way they wanted it [for the film],” our  source tells us. “Then they spent five days filming scenes and now they will spend the next five days changing the house back to the way it was before.”

Several fans tweeted Nov. 9 that Rob and Kristen filmed the highly-anticipated “feather scene,” in which Bella wakes up covered in feathers after losing her virginity to Edward.

Though we know Rob and Kristen are leaving Brazil, we’re told they aren’t going straight back to Baton Rouge, La., to film more Breaking Dawn scenes. Our source says Rob and Kristen are “making a stop in LA” before returning to their private love nest!"

Billy Burke Hints at 'Breaking Dawn' Scene We Can Look Forward To!

From the Twilight Examiner:

While in New York for the VH1 Save the Music Gala, Billy Burke (“Charlie Swan” in the Twilight series films) hit up WPIX (video attached) and hinted at one thing Twilight fans can look forward to seeing from him in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
"For me, my character actually gets to find out some stuff in these next two installments. I’ve been oblivious to the entire situation . . . so Charlie learns some things and I can’t wait for that moment when Charlie sees a werewolf."
In the book, we learned that Charlie saw Jacob transform in front of him. Here’s how it happened in the book. From pages 495-96:
“He phased in front of Charlie,” Edward hissed.
I whispered, “You what?” “He’s brave. Brave as you are. Didn’t pass out or throw up or anything. I gotta say, I was impressed. You should’ve seen his face when I started taking my clothes off, though. Priceless . . . . So I knocked on Charlie’s door this morning and asked him to come for a walk with me. He was confused, but  when I told him it was about you and that you were back in town, he followed me out to the woods. I told him you weren’t sick anymore, and that things were a little weird but good. He was about to take off to see you, but I told him I had to show him something first. And then I phased . . . I phased back and got dressed, and then after he started breathing again, I said something like ‘Charlie, you don’t live in the world you thought you lived in. The good news is, nothing has changed – except that you know now. Life’ll go on the same way it always has. You can go right back to pretending that you don’t believe any of this.’ It took him a minute to get his head together, then he wanted to know what was really going on with you, with the whole rare-disease thing. I told him you had been sick, but you were fine now – it was just that you’d had to change a little bit in the process of getting better. He wanted to know what I meant by ‘change,’ and I told him that you looked a lot more like Esme now than you looked like Renee . . . After a few minutes, he asked, real quietly, if you turned into an animal, too. And I said, ‘She wishes she was that cool!’” Jacob chuckled.

I TOTALLY CAN"T WAIT FOR BREAKING DAWN!!!!!!

Isle Esme & Edward & Bella's Love Shack Revealed!

Edward will be skinny dipping in that water.......*sigh*

See more pictures including inside shots of the Love Shack here.

According to Twifans we now have info on where the headboard breaking will be taking place for Breaking Dawn:

I don't think we will be receiving much information about the house since it's in utter seclusion and under extreme tight security. We can tell you however what has happened so far...

Reportedly, the original furniture of the house are being saved and protected and being replaced with furniture that fit the description of the book by Stephenie Meyer are being put in place.
Besides furniture, there is already heavy equipment and three generators, two of them being at sea and one in the house at the Isle Esme location.

Everyone involved with the film production, foreign and Brazilian, were summoned to a meeting Saturday where they were informed that it will be forbidden to bring cameras or cell phones to the filming. If anyone brings a recording device or gives the press information they will be dismissed and the person may be prosecuted.

Since yesterday a boat from the port is already located to support the security of the site.

To transport the actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson they will use a helicopter to land on the nearby mansion, the pilot of motoring Xande Negrao, which is located 5 minutes by boat as reported earlier.
